After some customer research, taking on board peoples different opinions on what was good and what was bad about each poster, and what could be done to them, using other key characteristics from the other designs to make an overall final design better. We analysed this helpful, constructive, research information and I then in tern used it to come up with a final design for our promotional Poster, which once shown to many people who gave the feedback, said how good it was , and how much they liked it.

Poster Idea's/Edits
After the research and evaluations on posters for current selling Basketball films and constructing 3 mock idea's with a different character to see what sort of thing we could come up with, we took some pictures which could be used for our final advertisement poster. We took several shots and I took the best ones and edited and constructed 10 Idea's. All where different in colours, lighting, brightness, fonts of writing etc, but some were of the same picture, just edited in a different way. These are the 10 Idea's I came up with, which I am going to create a questionnaire for and ask the target audience which best suits the film trailer and any factors which are used in the other ones which could make another better.
This is a link to the facebook page I uploaded the Pictures on to get a wide opinion of which one people think was better. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=333836&id=603628361

Trailer Poster Research and Possible Idea's
For our film trailer we have to produce a promotional poster as well. As our film is dominantly to do with basketball i have researched and analysed promotional posters for other, similar basketball films. These include "Like Mike", "Coach Carter", and "Glory road". The same films who's trailers I analysed.
All three of these Posters are all very simple, display clear images of the major factors and story line of the films and items which don't distract the eye from the main picture, like pictures which lots of things going on.
Also all three display clearly the title of the film and also a bit of information of the cast, directors and/or music credits. All of these posters also include colour, although perhaps this is a factor which could be changed to form an advantage over other posters.
With the help of these Posters I can up with 3 possible idea's for Poster possibility's on which i will develop further. (For the moment i have used photos which aren't fully pixilated just to give a brief idea of what it will look like, and the picture also isn't of myself but of a professional basketball player, again just to replicated what a poster could potentially look like).
The first idea is our favorite my favorite by far because i like the simplicity of the design and the effectiveness the picture has on the eye, looking cool, and also being an action shot, ideal for our movie. There also isn't too much going on in the picture and it has a bold clear logo of the film and gives the brief information the views need, not complicating them or giving them too much of information overload so they can digest the information and picture whilst simply passing on a bus etc.
However; there are some faults and alter factions i would like to change about this poster. First of all i think maybe a directors name should be presents as this gives the audience just that little bit more information with it being too much. however; the main factor i would like to change would be to have some colour in the picture. In the footage the dominate character who will be on the poster is wearing vivid Red basketball kit. This i think would look very artistic and stand out more against a black background instead of a plain black and white image. This would also draw the attention of passing public more.
This poster is the one I dislike the most. This is because there is too much going on in the picture. The buildings in the background distract the eye to much when looking at the poster and intern create the possibility of the poster being viewed in the wrong way and not taking the information in time of a brief passing. One thing I do like about the Poster is the images is a good action shot of an above average move which will kind of show what sort of thing will be in the movie. However this again lacks colour.
This is my second favorite out of the three. This is because I really like the red background of the product and the fancy skills picture it has on it. Things i would change however are the font of the logo and the text as i think this has a slight unprofessional feel to it which I don't want the picture to have or to portray to the audience. Also i think i would consider putting the poster in a portrait view rather than landscape.
This research has helped my alot by giving me an understanding of what a poster should and should not contain and also what I think will do our trailer the most justice in regards to the type of picture and colouring of the poster
